WHO ARE MANDURANG VALLEY WINES?

For many years, The Dispensary team has enjoyed a fantastic relationship with Mandurang Valley Winery owners Wes, Pam and the Vine family. 

Mandurang Valley produce the base wine used by The D to create our famous GSM blend, where the blend ratio is chosen by our wine team, and then finished and produced by Wes on our behalf.

The Vine family has contributed immensely to the local wine industry and education, helping many interested individuals learn about wine and winemaking, and supporting generations of local hospitality and wine professionals. 

Wes and Pamela first planted vines in 1976, when it became obvious that a hobby farm in Bendigo’s Mandurang Valley would not be sustainable. The first vintage was produced in 1980 for their consumption, with friends gaining the benefit of the excess stock.

With a Science Degree and a Diploma of Agriculture, Wes has travelled extensively to wine regions throughout Australia and Europe to further increase his knowledge and expertise.

40 years later, both Wes and Mandurang Valley Wines has developed a significant presence within the wine industry. Growing from a small enterprise into an established exporter, the winery has recieved many awards, and specialises in custom made wines. Wes’ contract winemaking for other vineyards in the region is now a substantial aspect of the winery’s activities; many of which have been highly successful competitively and commercially.

In recent years, the next two generations of have joined the team, with Wes and Pam’s son Steve Vine studying winemaking, and grandsons Oliver Vine working in Agri-Business and Tristan expanding the business’ IT capacity business processes.
